Ship Tours

Today is Day 10 of our cruise.  Ian has been busy doing short video tours of the ship – you can watch them below.

A few things about the cruise so far.  It is quite a mix of people – all ages.  We watched quite a few bloggers prior to boarding and wondered if we were getting on a soap opera – happily I can report that it really isn’t the drama we thought it was going to be.  There has been a few issues though – one person has sadly passed away (we think it was natural causes).  There was also a call put out for blood on one of the seadays (apparently many people stepped forward) and then a subsequent attempted rescue by Coast Guard for the same person.  Regrettably it was too rocky and foggy so they had to abort.  They were able to evacuate the person the next day when we arrived in Hilo.

There is no shortage of things to keep us busy – lots of games and activities.  After Hilo we had a day in Kona and the past two days we have been in Waikiki.  Ian and I went to the Zoo yesterday and then walked backed to the Hilton Hawaiian Village.  We went to the mall and Ian was able to purchase a pair of casual shoes to replace the two left shoes he packed.  We did lose each other at the mall for a bit which was a little frustrating but it did end well and we made it back to the ship.

We are now setting off for French Polynesia.  We will have 4 seadays in between and I am hoping for calmer waters as the last sea days were a little nauseating for me.

  1. Ahoy strangers.
I’ve been good and sent you emails but I haven’t heard back.
    Are you receiving them.?
Every picture/video there’s never people around. Are you by yourselves on that boat ? ?
The weather looks great, I hope your enjoying yourselves.
    Miss you , love you.
Say hi to leftie for us.
You’re not living that one down Ian.

    1. I do check regularly but there is definitely a delay in mail this way. Ship is about 70% full right now – it will be less full after australia. We don’t mind – meeting lots of wonderful people. Looking forward to meeting with you online.
